Summer with the Blue Crabs

About my time in Southern Maryland and working in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball

A Southern Maryland Summer

In May of 2024, I joined the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs as a broadcast intern. As soon as the semester finished in Fort Worth, TX I drove to Waldorf, MD to join the team and the front office.

Working alongside my broadcast partner Keith Noonan was an absolute blast. He was a true mentor and friend who gave me to opportunity to grow immensely.

In addition to calling games for the Blue Crabs, my role included preparing media materials for game days. This consisted of writing game notes, piecing together stat packs, and providing other necessary materials for media use in the press box. I also worked closely with the players and coaches, getting to know and learn about them as individuals on and off the diamond.

My time with the Blue Crabs was invaluable. I had the opportunity to meet and work alongside some tremendous people in the front office. These relationships are invaluable, and I could not be more blessed to have spent this summer in Maryland. Not only did I grow as a broadcaster, but I grew even more as a person continuing to pursue their dreams.

Lastly, I want to extend my gratitude to the whole Blue Crabs family, including General Manager Courtney Knichel and my broadcast partner Keith Noonan for their support throughout my internship. While my internship has concluded, the Blue Crabs family and organization will always hold a spot near and dear to my heart.

A day in my life!

During my internship, I was fortunate enough to run a TCU Takeover on the university's Instagram account. I was able to share with everyone about my internship, including the day-to-day of what goes into broadcasting.

It was also a great opportunity to answer several questions about TCU, its journalism and sports broadcasting programs as well as giving everyone a look in my internship.
